This route follows some of our favorite roads, and passes through areas damaged by the October wildfires. Time and a little rain have been at work since then, and a soft coat of green is beginning to cover the scars. The altered scenery won't make the climbs any easier, though, or the pavement any smoother, so you can expect to experience the usual burning in your legs and rattling in your bones on Sonoma Mountain and Cavedale Roads. As always, prepare yourself and your machine appropriately.
This ride will take about 4 hours to complete. There is a water stop at Mile 28. Please bring enough food to sustain yourself from start to finish. Riders coming from the north are welcome to join the group en route, and slower riders are invited to get a head start. A Petaluma contingent will depart the ride leader's home at 8:30am.
