This clinic is designed to explore the bike/rider interface and develop options, control, and fluidity of movement on the bike. Some of the techniques we’ll practice simply expand perception and are not meant for everyday riding situations. Others will focus on emergency situations that require reflex-level reactions.

The central theme is flexibility on the bike: developing the ability to shift weight and focus in ways that enhance control using all five points of contact with the bike. The drills will be taught in progressive fashion and performed in a large parking lot at low speed. Class length will be 2-3 hours depending on ability levels and interest.

This will be a good opportunity for riders of mixed ability to learn from and practice with each other. Fun, team building, and interaction will be emphasized. Though progressive, a majority of drills are easily performed by less skilled riders and none are mandatory, so watching is encouraged.

What to bring: road bike (less aero bars, panniers, etc), flat-sole shoes, helmet.
