This will be a social B-C ride with all C riders welcome. I've been wanting to scratch Scaggs Springs off of my hill list and now is the time to do this after all the climbing in April. We have an early start out of Healdsburg at 7am so we should be done with Scaggs Springs by 10:30 or so and have most of the difficult climbing out of the way before the heat sets in. There will be a couple of first timers on this ride(myself included) as well as some terrible two participants who have never experienced Scaggs Springs early in the day....and without another 100 miles and 7,000 to 8000' of elevation in their legs before this climb! So hopefully this will erase any bad memories of riding on this road from their memory and look at this ride with a smile instead of a groan of agony! :-) I'm hoping to be back in Healdsburg by 3-4pm and then a meal and beer at Bear Republic afterward for those who want to join in! Pack lots of nutrition for this ride!!! I believe there are water stops at the boys scouts camp on Scaggs before the turn off to Annapolis and then again at Tin Barn and Scaggs at the fire station. I'll get the water situation ironed out before the ride date.
