REQUIRED COURSE FOR SRCC MEMBERS IN THE RIDE LEADER PROGRAM

The Club is sponsoring a Roadside First Aid & Crash Management class that will include the basics of CPR & AED, taught by club members Loie Sauer, MD. Loie Sauer is a cardiac and vascular surgeon.

This class satisfies one of the requirements for ride leaders to earn a free jersey.

In this class you will learn:

    1. Where most accidents happen and how to avoid them.
    2. How to assess the scene after a crash has occurred.
    3. The most common injuries associated with cycling and how to treat them.

Be prepared and dressed for hands-on training. Half of class will be classroom and half will be hands-on treatment.

Group Riding Skills Clinic #2 for A, AB, B Riders

Led by Richard Anderson & Friends

Meet in the southeast corner of the Healdsburg Community Services Department, 1
    557 Healdsburg Ave. Healdsburg, 95448

Please note - no restroom facilities are available at this location.

In this clinic we target the specific mind set and skills needed to ride more cooperatively, safely and efficiently in a group. The 35-mile loop for the clinic consists of 4 legs with relatively flat to moderate terrain.  Before  each leg the coach explains and models a set of group riding skills. Participants then ride in small groups while practicing, and receive real time feedback and suggestions.  At the end of each section of riding there is a short debrief to consolidate and extend what is learned.

Riding cooperatively in a group is simple;  it is not easy. The skills involved are perishable and take an ongoing effort to learn and apply. Even if you’ve already taken a group riding skills or paceline class, this clinic can prove useful.  Come out and enjoy the thrill of truly riding together.

    What to bring:

    • road bike
    • riding shoes
    • helmet
    • enough pocket food & drink for the entire clinic (no rest stop at a store or coffee shop)
    • no aero bars or panniers
Ride Leader Training Program - this class satisfies one of the requirements to complete the SRCC Ride Leader Training Program.

This is the second class of a two-part group riding series offered by the SRCC. The first focuses on the basic concepts and skills of group riding. The second (#2) class offers more ride time to further practice and extend the same concepts and skills.

Registration required, limited to 20 riders. Please register by Thursday, November 13, 2025. Please note that there is a $10.00 deposit for this clinic. You will receive a full refund upon completion of the clinic, or if you cancel by October 13th.  To cancel your registration, login to the SRCC website, go to this event page, click “already registered,” and then click the button to cancel.

Wait List: When the registration limit of 20 is reached, additional members may still sign up on the wait list. As members cancel their registration, the person at the top of the wait list will be moved to the active list and notified.

Please contact Richard Anderson, randerson999@icloud.com, with any questions.
