changes and weather. I’m not great at
navigating Marin, so if someone has a better course let me know!
We’re going to maximize the SMART path from Windsor to Larkspur. This is not a hilly course, but there is some city riding.
Arrive at Windsor SMART station at 8:30, departing following introductions. I would wait until the first train arrives from the South, but that’s not until 10:18 a.m., so no riding the train to the start. However, you can ride to the start from Santa Rosa (or wherever) and then just jump off at a stop closest to you.
Note: If you don’t want to ride the whole route – or just parts of it, you can get a weekend “day pass” for $10 and hop on an off all you want.
I’d like to get to Larkspur in time for the 1:13 p.m. train north,
but there’s another one at 2:17 if anyone wants to grab lunch at Larkspur
Landing instead of heading home.
Here’s the weekend northbound SMART schedule:

Cost is $7.50 from Larkspur to Windsor (unless you’re under 18 or over 65 – then it’s
free!). You cannot pay cash. You have to either use a clipper card or the
SMART app. If you don’t use public
transportation much, use the SMART app – you can just buy one ticket with your credit
card or apple pay (and probably google pay).
Get the SMART app here: https://www.sonomamarintrain.org/node/91
Regroups/breaks: Because of the course, I anticipate rolling
speeds to be around 17 mph and staying pretty much together. We will make sure everyone transitions from
Fulton to Santa Rosa Creek Trail. Short Break
at Penngrove market (bathrooms and beverages available!).
