The Santa Rosa Cycling Club is a social/recreational organization comprised of
cycling enthusiasts with a wide range of abilities and interests.

Our purpose is to promote the safe and efficient use of bicycles through club rides and events, and by maintaining an active presence in the local community. We encourage a large and vital membership and try to provide rides for all abilities.

There is a general membership meeting on the second Wednesday of each month.

The formal meeting typically starts at 6:30 pm with club business and calendar notes, followed by a presentation of general interest to cyclists. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 6:00 pm for social time and to order food if desired. Members attending for the first time receive a meal and beverage on the Club!

We ask you to choose because the ride entries are not transferable.

If you led a Club ride in March you are also eligible to enter
the second prize drawing for ride leaders.

Rules for the Magic prize drawing:
- Must RSVP to have name entered in drawings.
- Maximum one prize per person.
- Need not be present to win one of the ride entries; must be present
to win any other item (or send a proxy).

Guests at Picnic?
A few folks have asked if they can bring a guest to the picnic,
so we have made a provision to allow this.
There is a nominal guest fee ($10) to help cover the costs.

Come join us for a festive ride (see below) and Pizza Party for our beloved "Do Everything" friend Bridgette Martinez. She has done so much for the club over the years including being President for three years and Ride Director for another eight years or so. Bridgette and Jose will be retiring and moving to Oregon in a few months.

Please join your fellow club members for a leisurely ride in the morning and stay for a fun pizza party in the afternoon. Party is limited is 82 people.

Riders can optionally take SMART Train #1 (Free for Seniors 65 and over)to arrive at 8:35am at Larkspur and return on the #10 at 2:55 or #13 at 4:35. But the return train schedule is not optimal as usually we finish the ride after 3pm. Schedule: https://sonomamarintrain.org/schedules-fares

Ride start is at the Larkspur Ferry parking at 0900. Rolling promptly at 0910 or sooner. We will lead at an AB pace and expect everyone to stay together for logistics and safety. We will stop at places of interest, convenient restrooms and we can determine coffee stop options at ride start.

Riding over the Richmond-Rafael Bridge bike lane on top (4 mi), we drop into the quaint town of Pt. Richmond, ride through a tunnel to the bay shore and follow along the Sf Bay past wetlands, parks, yacht harbors, industrial ports and train yards. Going all the way to Emeryville on bike paths, back roads, and marked bike lanes, until we get to the Port of Oakland, which we ride through the usually deserted on the weekends, to Jack London Square to catch the 12:15 SF Bay ferry to the SF Ferry Building. The fee for the ferry is $4.60, or $2.30 for seniors and can be paid by clipper card, online app, or at the terminal by cash or credit card. 35 mi Short Cut Option with GGB ferry to Larkspur: This ferry leaves either at noon or at 1:50pm, back to Larkspur Landing.(Fare: $8.75 adults, $7.00 seniors). This also allows riders to easily make the #8 1:10 pm or the #10 2:45pm SMART train back north.

We will not be riding the Bay Bridge to Treasure Island to take the Ferry from there, because the policy has changed to restrict the Ferry to only allowing 6 bicycles on any trip. This may change in the future and we will monitor the situation.

Arriving in SF at about 1pm after 35 miles and a 5 mile ferry ride, we can take a break at the Ferry Building itself with a choice of many places to purchase food or drinks. Making our way down the embarcadero by bike lane crossing at Northpoint and riding several blocks on the road bike lane to Aquatic park where we pick up the bike lane along the Marin and Crissy field and the rise up to the bikes only, west side of the Golden Gate Bridge crossing. Dropping into Sausalito, crossing the Richardson Bay wetlands, over the Horse Hill bike lane, we cross the last few miles behind the Corte Madera shopping center by road and back to the Larkspur Ferry Terminal.

This event is open only to those who volunteer and work on the Wine Country Century. It's the Club's way of rewarding everyone for all the hard work. To assist us with the planning we are asking everyone to register for the ride and/or the picnic.

The Workers' Ride has similar routes as the WCC, including the 34mi, 100K and 100mi routes with rest-stops on all the routes.

When you register, you will provide your email address and cell number. In addition, you MUST provide an emergency contact, name and reachable cell number.

Please note that the official start time is 7:00 am. Riders who need extra time for this event are encouraged to leave earlier than 7:00 am. If you plan on leaving anytime before the official start, you must enter that on the registration form. I will be at the start at 6am.

In order to defray the costs of SAG support for this event, we ask for a $10 donation per rider. This is totally voluntary and will be collected at the start of the ride.

We do not supply lunch but you have the opportunity to send a drop bag with your lunch or other items to the lunch stop in Pt. Arena. Just leave it with the ride leader before departure and it will be there when you arrive.

This is an extremely hilly and challenging ride, a good final tune-up for those training for the Terrible Two or just as a stand-alone epic ride. Major climbs (and descents) on Hwy 128, Mountain View Rd, Annapolis Rd and Skaggs Springs.

Parking: PLEASE park at the far end of the Visitor Center parking area, towards Skaggs Springs Rd.

Price $625 per person

The initial deposit is $50 (payable by credit card online at time of registration). The second and final installment (by check) of $575 will be due by April 1, 2026.

Waitlist

If the tour sells out and you are interested in going, sign up on the waitlist. There is a good chance to get on the tour as inevitable cancellations occur.

Cancellation Policy

Refunds of tour payments will depend upon whether a replacement rider signs up, and on costs that can be recouped. The amount refunded will be based on the principle that neither the tour’s remaining participants nor the Club will incur any additional cost as a result of cancellations. If the cancelling participant is replaced, a refund will be made at that time, less a $25 fee. If the cancelling participant can't be replaced, any refund will be determined after the tour and final expenses are tabulated.

We reserve the right to cancel or modify trips for any reason if circumstances make it necessary. In the event that SRCC needs to cancel, we will do our best to provide a 30 day notice and a full refund for monies received. Refunds will be for the tour fee only, less any costs expended and not refunded to SRCC due to the cancellation, and do not include transportation, hotel or other expenses incurred on the part of tour participants. Tours are generally held rain or shine. Thanks for your support and understanding.
